Hi, I’m Nick Freelove!

Hello!

I am Nick Freelove, an Associate of Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFTA). I became a relational therapist to support families in conflict, to help lovers and partners find and develop reciprocity, and to treat individuals suffering in a world that increasingly diminishes our inherent relational nature as human beings. I am a husband, a father, a step-father, a son, and a brother, raised from heteronormativity as an unacknowledged neurodivergent (ADHD if you’re wondering), and I am grateful that the life I have lived has led me to healing arts. I take a deep and sacred joy in attuning to the hearts, minds, and spirits of others, and I take a swelling pride in being a witness to the transformation of those I have the honor to work with. Apart from this, I am a robust nerd, video-gamer, spiritualist, and high-fantasy novel lover.

While I care deeply for people and the world, the act of caring, for me, has been challenging. My therapy is colored by my own growth and struggle with emotional intimacy, expression, loving myself, caring about others, and prioritizing authenticity. My approach is also influenced by my own backstory in earth-based spirituality, a core aspect of my considerations and the lens through which I view our collective rampant individualism.

As a clinician I want to help orient individuals and relationships in thinking of their experience as an essential story in their own growth, and while I am not a narrative therapist, every aspect of our stories supports our perceptions of who we are, and what we came here to do; my hope, and the hope I can offer you, is that it is to love, to trust, and to embrace a relational life.
